Biography


Financial communications expert Deborah Cavanagh has more than 14 years frontline career experience in financial services, both in-house as a Director of Corporate Communications and PR Manager for large retail banking and insurance services, and as a senior consultant with leading London-based financial PR agencies. Deborah has substantial experience in developing and launching successful communication and media relations strategies for hedge funds, wealth managers and investment banks in London and the US.

She has worked as a Senior Consultant for M: Communications and Phoenix Financial Communications handling hedge funds, boutique wealth managers, as well as leading names such as HSBC Private Bank and Kleinwort Benson PB. A former Newspaper Society award-winning news and financial journalist and a Thomson newspapers graduate trainee, she is former Features Editor of the Press Association and has written for the FT, the Telegraph, and the Guardian as well as numerous specialist b to b publications. Several of her former colleagues are now City Editors on leading national newspapers and financial news and business titles. Her media contacts are extensive and global.

In recent years, she has worked more exclusively in the hedge and wealth management/investment banking sectors her clients have included Princeton-based Drury Capital, Eikoh Research Investment Management, Threadneedle Technologies, Hume Capital, HSBC PB, HSBC Alternative Investments, PSigma Asset Management (Deborah worked on the PSigma Global US Equities Fund launch in 2011), Matrix Group, Matrix Asia Hedge Fund and INSYNERGY investments (specifically the Odey China Fund), London& Capital Wealth Managers, Chelverton Asset Management.

Deborah is a member of 100 Women in Hedgefunds and the official communications advisor to the Asian Alternative Investment Network in London, which has hubs in New York and Tokyo.
